It’s Winter, and time moves at a slower pace. While the quiet sets in, why not learn some new skills or participate in an exhibition?
Check out these open calls for participants throughout WNC!
- John C Campbell Folk School: Scholarship applications are open until January 21, 2025, for July through December 2025.
- Weaverville Art Safari: Registration for the 2025 spring session will be open from January 19 until February 23. New members must be juried first (before February 16).
- Black Mountain Center for the Arts: Submissions are requested for the upcoming exhibit, Seeing Red, until February 7, 2025. The exhibit will feature 2D and 3D work focusing on ways we see the color red. It will run from May 2 through 23, 2025.
- Transylvania Community Arts Council: Submissions are requested for a new exhibit, Community. It is open to all creative works of all mediums (except sound). Explore how you envision community. Submit art by January 14, 2025. The show will be from January 17 to February 15, 2025.
- Toe River Arts: Call for work for the 18th Annual Blacksmith Exhibition. Submit work by March 25, 2025. The exhibit will be from March 29 through April 26, 2025.
- White Squirrel Artisan Market: Call for artists and vendors. Art in Bloom will take place at the Porter Center at Brevard College. Apply by January 17, 2025. The show will be on March 8, 2025.
- Cowee School: Call for artists for a new exhibit, Fragments of Hope–a juried exhibition focusing on art depicting the impacts of Hurricane Helene on artists and their strength in the aftermath. Apply by February 15, 2025. Exhibit March 3 – May 23, 2025.
