DESCRIPTION:The 21st Annual NC Gold Festival will be held on June 6 -7\, 2025 at 251 Lucky Strike Drive and 1296 Polly Spout Road\, both of Marion\, NC 28752. (They are across the road from each other.) \n​Our vendor applications are open as of September 1\, 2024. All vendors are encouraged to apply\, but the NC Gold Foundation holds the right to accept or deny any vendor at our sole discretion. (Vendors will not be discriminated against for age\, race\, religion\, or any other legal protection given to you by the state of North Carolina.) \n​Vendor applicants will receive an email confirming that we have received your application\, however\, we will not be sending out acceptance emails until January 2025.

DESCRIPTION:This popular shutterbug weekend includes presentations from top nature photographers\, hands-on field courses\, a friendly contest and the rare opportunity to photograph the mountain’s spectacular scenery before and after regular business hours. \nThis revamped version of the popular weekend will include changes to better welcome all levels of photographers\, making it more fun and engaging for all – while better connecting participants with the wonders and unique ecology of Grandfather Mountain. This year\, more than ever\, we hope to not only help participants learn about photography\, but to also inspire them to preserve the natural world. SUMMARY:National Trails Day with the Carolina Mountain Club
DESCRIPTION:Join the Carolina Mountain Club (CMC) for a volunteer day in Hot Springs to help restore area trails. All are welcome\, and youth ages 14 and up can participate with a parent or guardian.  \n8 am – Carpool from the US Forest Service parking lot 160 Zillcoa St.\, Asheville\, NC \n9 am – Kickoff at Hot Springs Resort\, 315 Bridge St.\, Hot Springs\, NC \n3 pm – Afterparty at Big Pillow Brewing – raffle prizes and your first beer is on the house! \n  \nPlease bring your own lunch/snacks\, water\, gloves\, long sleeves/pants\, and rain jacket. CMC will provide tools and personal protective equipment (PPE). \nSign up is required.
