Local Yarn Stores during this event for a chance to win prizes\, shop great deals and specials! The WNC Yarn Crawl is held every year during the week leading up to Mother’s Day. \nPrizes!\nAt each LYS you have a chance to enter into a drawing for awesome fiber related prizes! Anyone can enter\, even at multiple stores. Prizes are provided by the stores themselves\, as well as vendors the stores have worked with who donate to support the fiber love! \nThis year the theme is “Spring Fling!” Celebrate with us the joys of the spring season. SUMMARY:Adult Field Course: Service-Learning Course: Managing Non-native Species
DESCRIPTION:Join us to learn about non-native invasive species that can threaten our native flora and fauna and see different management strategies in action. After exploring the techniques Grandfather Mountain Natural Resources staff use to promote native species in the park\, we’ll head into the woods for hands-on experience removing invasive plants. Participants will learn non-native species identification\, management practices that can be used at home and how some invasive “weeds” can have practical (even culinary) uses! Tickets for this event go on sale online on Grandfather Mountain’s website March 25 at 10 a.m. Advance registration required.

SUMMARY:Community Workshop Days 2026
DESCRIPTION:Join us for Community Workshop Days on May 9 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the John C. Campbell Folk School campus! This season we have four offerings that are filling up fast: Basketry\, Marbling\, Jewelry and Quilting. Beginners welcome. No experience required. \nEnjoy a 6-hour studio experience to explore a craft. There will be a 1-hour lunch break where we’ll enjoy a lunch of sandwiches and sides\, to celebrate our time together. Lunch is included in your workshop tuition. To ensure accessibility\, we’ve implemented a sliding fee scale\, making this opportunity available to everyone in our local community. \nAges: 15 & Up. Minors will need to have a parent or guardian registered for the same workshop and present throughout in order to participate the day of the event.
