Pisgah Center for Wildlife Education


Courtesy of Pisgah Center for Wildlife EducationThe Pisgah Center for Wildlife Education, located in the Pisgah National Forest, offers unique indoor and outdoor exhibits and programs on North Carolina's wildlife and mountain habitats.

The Center's gift shop, the N.C. Wild Store, retails items that are wildlife-oriented including books, apparel, posters, toys, gifts, art, and educational materials.

Hours of Operation
Open daily from 8 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.  Closed on Easter weekend and all state holidays except Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day.  Outdoor exhibits close at 4:30 p.m.

Location
The Pisgah Center is located off U.S. Hwy 276 near Pisgah Forest, NC, in Transylvania County.

Approach Pisgah Forest from Asheville via Hwy 280 (Airport Exit off I-26) or from the south at Exit 18B onto Hwy 64 West.  At the intersection of Hwy 280, 64, and 276, follow 276N approximately 5.5 miles (just after bridge).  There will be a fork in the road and a sign for the Pisgah Center for Wildlife Education.  Bear to the left onto Forest Service road 475.  Drive approximately 1.5 miles and turn left at the Pisgah Center for Wildlife Education.
