Stecoah Valley Cultural Arts Center

Courtesy of Stecoah Valley Cultural Arts CenterThe Stecoah Valley Cultural Arts Center, located in the old Stecoah School building, offers many programs that preserve and promote Southern Appalachian mountain culture.  Built of native rock with the skill and labor of many local community members, the school and its students were photographed on Dedication Day Ceremony in 1926.  That panoramic photograph is now captured in an 18' long mural overlooking the historic auditorium.

• Summer concert series, An Appalachian Evening
• Annual Mountain Music Championship in June
• Annual Harvest Festival in October

The Center is home to the Stecoah Artisans Gallery & Guild, a regional artists gallery featuring a variety of original artworks and fine crafts, the Stecoah Valley Food Ventures culinary co-op, and the Stecoah Valley Weavers, which offers classes year round.

Additionally, the Center is noted in the Cherokee Heritage Trails Guidebook for its exhibit The Cherokee in Stecoah Valley, which is devoted to the heritage of local Cherokee families.
