Museum of Ashe County History


Courtesy of Ashe County MuseumExhibits reflecting the history of Ashe County, including the old Virginia Creeper Railroad, will soon be housed in the historic 1904 Ashe County Courthouse in Jefferson, NC, when renovations are completed.  At present, the museum's collection is in a space across the street.

In addition to the museum, the renovated building will house a welcome center, gift shop, and offices. The center hall will be dedicated to the county's veterans of military service.
